Terms and conditions of entry

 

Bosworth Water Park places great importance on the safety of its guests and endeavours to ensure that our high standards are met by all persons visiting our attraction. Please assist us in ensuring our attraction and its facilities remain a safe place for all to enjoy.

Please note that these entry conditions are also subject to additional rules and regulations that apply to individual attractions, these can be found at the entry point to each attraction that has separate conditions in place.

You are admitted to our park subject to the following entry conditions. If you do not comply with them you may be removed from our park by staff members, security or police officers, without any right to a refund.

This is without prejudice to any claim that we may have against you arising out of your actions. Whilst inside the park, you must comply with any reasonable instructions given to you by our staff or any third party instructed on behalf of us.

Bosworth Water Park, acting reasonably, reserves the right to vary these entry conditions at any time without prior notice.

By entering the park, you accept that you have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure your own safety and others you are responsible for, taking into account any personal impairments (and that of anyone you are responsible for) that may affect your safety and the safety of other guests.

We reinforce the fact that all areas of our park are unsupervised and the fact that you are responsible for the safety and behaviour of all persons under the age of 18 that you have brought to or allowed to enter the park.

All persons in our grounds should behave in a safe and courteous manner at all times.

There is an inherent risk of injury in any setting and/or activity, whilst we take all reasonable measures to bring the risk down we cannot be held responsible for any injury and/or death however caused.

Please remember as in any rural and natural setting the underlying ground conditions vary depending on the time of year and weather conditions. Slips, trips and falls can and do happen, please take extra care when walking and remind children of the danger.

Facilities

We will endeavour to ensure that as many facilities and attractions as possible are available for use by guests. However, we reserve the right, without prior notice, to close any attraction and/or facility and/or change the facilities operating hours.

Bosworth Water Park in its absolute discretion reserves the right to close the whole or any part of the park at any time or to restrict the number of persons having access to the park.

The reason for any closure or restriction may include technical or operational reasons, capacity, special events or to ensure the safety and security of guests or if we reasonably consider the circumstances so require.

Our right to remove you:

We, acting reasonably at all times, reserve the right to refuse admission to the park, ban from entry to the park, or remove from the park without any right to a refund any person whose presence or behaviour may affect the enjoyment and/or safety of other guests or staff or who: acts in an inappropriate and/or undesirable manner; has been convicted of a criminal offence relating to us; or in our opinion is likely to affect the safety and/or enjoyment of other guests or staff; uses violent, aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or insulting words or behaviour or in any way behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace.

We reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings or prosecute any person found damaging or defacing any part of the grounds, fences, barriers, walls, structures, exhibits, fabrics, buildings, fixtures or fittings at the park or displaying any sign or visible representation of any kind which is, or could be reasonably judged to be, threatening, abusive or insulting or has previously acted in any manner which has caused any person to report that individual to us.

If any guest in breach of any of these Entry Conditions is a member of a group, then such group of individuals may also, at our discretion, be denied entry or escorted from the Attraction without any right to a refund.

Admission

THE PARK IS PRIVATE PROPERTY.

All persons entering the park must pay for admission by the payment of a parking ticket or pedestrian charge of £2 per person.

The payment of this charge gives access to our park grounds, toilet facilities, beach areas, pic-nic areas and play areas.

Further attractions and facilities are accessible only by payment of the appropriate charge that can be found on our website and official literature.

Your behaviour:

Unnecessary noise or any behaviour likely to cause annoyance to other guests or confusion of any kind is not permitted in any part of the park.

Smoking (including of e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited in any indoor areas, beach areas and children’s play areas.

There is a strict 10mph speed limit at all time.

Your dress & appearance must be suitable for a family environment

You must wear appropriate clothing at all times whilst at the park. If you fail to wear clothing that we consider to be appropriate or which is likely to cause offence in any way, you will be refused entry or removed from the park.

Babies and toddlers not toilet trained must wear swim-nappies at all times in the beach and lagoon areas.

Parking:

Vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. We take no responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle using the car park and no guarantee is given as to the security of guests’ vehicles in the car park or any contents.

No vehicles are permitted to remain in the park outside the parks normal operating hours unless registered as staying on site.

Security:

To prevent offensive weapons or dangerous articles from being brought into the park, you are admitted to the park subject to the condition that, if requested to do so, you will allow yourself and/or your belongings to be searched.

It is prohibited to bring into the park any weapons, fireworks, smoke bombs or other articles which may cause injury.

The throwing of any article which could cause injury or affect the enjoyment of other guests is strictly prohibited. Any person found to be in possession of an article deemed to be offensive or dangerous will be immediately escorted from the park without any right to a refund and we reserve the right to make reports to the relevant authorities which may lead to prosecution.

The use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited and any persons found possessing, using or who appear to be under the influence of illegal substances will be refused admission or escorted from the park without any right to a refund.

CCTV cameras are used to assist in the proper running of the park, however, we do not make any representation as to the extent of coverage provided by the cameras.

All items, belongings and other property brought into the park by you are at your own risk and we accept no liability for any loss or damage to such property. As such, we recommend that you do not bring valuables to the park.

Animals:

Pets are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead. Pets or animals should not be left in any vehicle parked at the park. We reserve the right to contact any relevant authority to make and be responsible for any decision in relation to any animals that are left unsupervised or that are found to be in distress.

Under no circumstances are pets allowed in the children’s play areas or beach areas, anyone found not to be “picking up” after their pet will be removed and reported to the authorities.

Litter

Bins are provided, please ensure all litter is disposed of in the bins, bagged dog waste is also to be placed in the bins. Any person or group found littering or not clearing up after their group will be removed from the park with no refund given.

Photography:

You are permitted to take casual photographs within the park except in in the changing areas, toilets and showers.

Any photographs shall be solely for private use and shall not be sold or used for any commercial or public purpose. By accepting these Entry Conditions, you acknowledge that Bosworth Water Park may on demand have access to photographs taken by you and request that certain photographs are deleted if they are deemed to invade the privacy of other guests and/or staff.

By accepting these Entry Conditions, you agree not to intentionally photograph any individual (other than family and friends) without that person’s permission and you must adhere to all photography restrictions in place whilst within the park.

From time to time Bosworth Water Park or other authorised parties carry out photography and/or video recording in the park, which may feature guests.

Entry to the Attraction is deemed acceptance of these Entry Conditions, and you therefore agree that Bosworth Water Park or any authorised party may use such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever.

You further agree that copyright in these materials rests with Bosworth Water Park or such authorised party (as the case may be).

Individual attractions and facilities with separate conditions of use

In addition to the terms and conditions of entry set out, some individual attractions and facilities have additional terms and conditions of use.

By using the individual attraction or facility you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions attached to the attraction or facility.

Blue Lagoon

As all areas of our park this is an unsupervised area, no lifeguarding provision is provided.

Water depth is a maximum of 1.4m.

No dogs, bbq’s, glass or loud music at any time.

All children must be accompanied at all times, as guidance we recommend the following supervision ratio’s.

Each child aged 4 years and under should be accompanied and supervised by a person over the age of 16.

Maximum of two children aged between 5 and 12 years should be accompanied and supervised by a person over the age of 16.

The above is a guide only, we are unable to ascertain the correct supervision ratio for any child in your care, external factors such as swimming ability, physical and mental capacity will affect the supervision required and you as the person reasonable for the supervision is best placed to make the final decision as to the level of supervision required.

The supervising adult is responsible for ensuring rules are followed.

Outdoor play equipment

As all areas of our park this is an unsupervised area, no supervision provision is provided.

The play equipment is provided for children under the age of 12, different equipment has different maximum and minimum age requirements, and it is the responsible adult’s reasonability to ensure this advice is followed.

No dogs, bbq’s, glass or loud music at any time.

In hot weather the side can become very hot and friction burns can occur, please ensure you are fully covered at all times.

All children must be accompanied at all times, as guidance we recommend the following supervision ratio’s.

Each child aged 4 years and under should be accompanied and supervised by a person over the age of 16.

 

Maximum of two children aged between 5 and 9 years should be accompanied and supervised by a person over the age of 16.

Crazy Golf

Putters, balls and score cards are available from reception in exchange for payment of the fee.

As all areas of our park this is an unsupervised area, no supervision provision is provided.

All children must be accompanied at all times, as guidance we recommend the following supervision ratio’s.

Each child aged 4 years and under should be accompanied and supervised by a person over the age of 16;

Maximum of two children aged between 5 and 9 years should be accompanied and supervised by a person over the age of 16;

All players must stay on the hard surface and keep off the grass, only equipment hired can be used on the course, clubs must never be swung above knee height, 6 stoke limit on all holes, please be courteous to others whilst playing and waiting, injuries can occur, please play responsibly and at your own risk.

The supervising adult is responsible for ensuring rules are followed.

We understand that in some circumstances it is not always practical for the supervising adult to come in person to the reception; in this instance persons under the age of 18 are allowed to hire equipment without an adult present. We assume that parental permission has been granted by allowing a person under the age of 18 to hire the equipment and that the above rules and regulations have been explained to them and that they will be supervised on the course.

Water hire equipment

Tickets for hire equipment are only available from reception, only persons over the age of 18 can purchase tickets for hire equipment, the relevant costs are clearly displayed on our website and official literature.

Under 18’s are allowed to use the hire equipment without a responsible adult accompanying them only if the supervising adult is happy to give verbal consent in person.

Due to the higher than average inherent risk involved with water sports a supervising adult must always hire the equipment for persons under the age of 18, there are no exceptions to this rule and this must always be in person.

We will assume that all safety rules and regulations have been explained to persons under the age of 18 by the responsible adult.

As all areas of our park this is an unsupervised area, no supervision provision is provided, rescue boat cover is provided but we make no formal guarantee as to the ability of the driver to make an effective rescue due to the limitations of visibility and distance.

We operate a no swimming policy however if you encounter a person in the water you must give way to that person.

Under no circumstances must any person leave any equipment in any other place than where it was rented from, all equipment must be returned back to the same location.

All islands are out of bounds, nesting birds frequently inhabit the islands and your presence is a danger to wildlife.

Any person found to be swimming from equipment, using it in an unsafe manor or being generally disruptive will be returned to the land, and removed from the park with no refund given.

Any person carrying alcohol or drugs or that we perceive to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused use of any hire equipment.

All water equipment hired by us has met the relevant conformity regulations. In order to comply with the regulations any person using the equipment must comply with the following rules.

Buoyancy aids are provided, they must not be removed until you are safely back on land.

Pedalos

All pedalos are licenced for a maximum of 5 persons (including infants in arms), under no circumstances can this number be exceeded.

Under normal operation the equipment is safe to use; unnecessary movements such as rocking or standing up can make the boat unstable and increase risk of capsize or man over board; all persons must remain seated at all times.

Canoes and Kayaks

Single canoes and kayaks can only accommodate one person, double canoes and kayaks can seat up to 3 persons if one is a child under 5.

No experience is required to hire an open top canoe or kayak, a closed cockpit boat can only be hired by a person with a canoe England (formally BCU) 1 star certificate that can be presented when hiring.

Under normal operation the equipment is safe to use; unnecessary movements such as rocking or standing up can make the boat unstable and increase risk of capsize or man over board; all persons must remain seated at all times.

Stand up paddleboards

SUP’S can only accommodate one person.

No experience is required to hire and SUP.

Under normal operation the equipment is safe to use; unnecessary movements such as rocking will impede performance.

Sailing Dinghy’s

We will only hire sailing dinghy’s to a person who holds a R.Y.A level 2 certificate that can be presented on purchasing your hire ticket.

If when out on the water we perceive your skill level is not to a standard where you can safely sail the craft we will return you to shore with no refund given.

Under normal operation the equipment is safe to use; unnecessary movements such as rocking or standing up can make the boat unstable and increase risk of capsize or man over board; all persons must remain seated at all times.

Windsurf equipment

We will only hire windsurfing equipment to a person who holds a R.Y.A level 1 certificate that can be presented on purchasing your hire ticket.

If when out on the water we perceive your skill level is not to a standard where you can safely sail the equipment we will return you to shore with no refund given.

Indoor play area

The indoor play area located inside our café is for the enjoyment of children under the age of 5 whilst a responsible adult is eating or drinking in the café.

All Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, over the age of 16, who must remain in the café at all times.

Bosworth Water Park does not accept responsibility for the supervision of children.

Children should go to the toilet and wash their hands before going into the play area.

Leave badges & jewellery with a responsible adult. Spectacles should only be worn if used with a retainer, and shatter proof lenses.

Shoes must be removed before entering the play area. Socks must be worn at all times, by both children & adults.

Play is restricted to 60 minutes during peak times, no food or drink is allowed in the play area, No sharp object to be taken into the play room.

Report any behavioural concerns to a member of staff. Do not attempt to intervene yourself.

Fighting, bullying, aggressive, or any type of behaviour deemed to be unsuitable towards members of the public or water park staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person without reason at any time.

Use of water with own equipment

Our lakes are available to use as a day sailor by paying the appropriate fee in reception. Use of the water is subject to the following rules and regulations.

All water sports users must report to Reception on arrival.

Insurance must be shown before going on the water. Third-party insurance with minimum cover of £2,000,000 is required.

Observe to basic law “board sailors and dinghies on the starboard tack have right of way”.

Buoyancy aids should be worn.

No powered craft or inflatable equipment on the lake at any time.

Fishing

Fishing is available and included in your parking fee for one person; extra persons must purchase a ticket from reception.

We are a water sports centre, users of the lakes in any craft take priority at all times. Where a piece of hire equipment or one of our rescue boats damages a line or any associated equipment we will not take any responsibility. It is your responsibility to ensure you are fishing either close enough to the shore or deep enough to ensure this does not happen. You must remove equipment in plenty of time to avoid accidents.

All rod holders must have a valid fishing licence, maximum 2 rods per angler.

 

Each angler is required to have their own landing net and unhooking mat.

 

No bait boats allowed.

 

Strictly barbless hooks only, No micro barbs or snapped off barbs, maximum hook size of 6. Maximum line 15lb, recommend minimum of 6lb, with braid only to be used on the hook length.

 

No tiger nuts, boilies or hemp, floating baits only permitted with constant vigilance to wildlife.

 

Please do not leave your rod unattended, or leave your peg with any fish caught. Fish should be reintroduced to the lake within 5 minutes of landing, no sacking or keep nets allowed.

 

ALL FISH TO BE RETURNED, ANYONE TAKING FISH WILL BE PROCECUTED

 

Camping & Caravan site and cabin bookings.

 

Our Campsite is very much family orientated, we only accept bookings from family groups and couples over 25. No same sex or non-family groups are allowed to stay with us (i.e. hen and stag parties).

 

Bookings must be made in advance, either on-line, over the telephone or in person.

Bookings made via the website require payment in full at the time of booking.

 

When booked this is non-refundable.

 

We will be happy to rearrange your booking for alternative dates subject to availability within 14 days of arrival.

 

Amendments made within 14 days of your arrival unfortunately cannot be dealt with.

 

Pitch number requests are only requests and we will do all we can to accommodate your request; unfortunately specific pitch numbers cannot be guaranteed.

 

Rules and regulations whilst on-site

 

In addition to the standard terms and conditions of entry the following rules and regulations also apply to residents on-site.

 

All campers and caravaners must report to reception on arrival.

 

Pitches to be vacated by 12 noon on departure day, unless a later checkout has been agreed by reception.

 

No loud music at any time.

 

Quiet time between 11pm and 7am.

 

All dogs to be kept on a lead at all times, any dog spoiling the enjoyment of the site will be required to leave.

 

No rubbish or litter to be left on your pitch on departure.

 

Speed limit it 10mph.

 

2 cars maximum per pitch.

 

No ball games on the campsite.

 

The cutting of trees is strictly prohibited, No open fires (fire pits are allowed)

First Aid

 

First aid provision is available at all times the office and reception or cafe is open, outside of these hours there is no provision.

 

The first aid services are provided by trained members of staff who hold a recognised qualification.

 

On Sundays and bank holidays an additional service is provided by the Leicestershire Lifeguards.

 

Please note due to the seasonal nature of our business there are times when the park grounds are open but the office, cafe and reception are closed, at these times there is no prevision for first aid and an ambulance must be called.

 

Access Statement

Bosworth Water Trust is accessible to all.

All entrances to buildings and services are accessible on ground level with no steps. Dedicated toilets and parking are available for customers with mobility problems.
